The Foreign Ministry is following up the case of an Egyptian national who was reported missing in Italy, its spokesman Ahmed Abu Zeid said on Thursday.
Citizen Abdou Abdou Ibrahim Aql, aka Magdy Akl, arrived in Italy in 1992 and had worked for Carparelli since 1994 until he was reported disappeared on Aug 1, 2017, the spokesman said.
Disagreements had erupted between Aql and the son of the owner of the company, he added.
The Egyptian General Consulate contacted the Italian authorities immediately after the incident was reported, the spokesman said.
Egypt’s Consul General Ahmed Shahin noted that the deputy security director of Milan promised to exert all efforts and take necessary measures to reveal the truth behind the disappearance of the Egyptian national.
