Minister of Irrigation and Water Resources Mohamed Abdel Aaty took part in a conference on climate change, now in session in Beirut, Lebanon.
According to a statement by the Ministry of Irrigation, the three-day event assesses the impact of the climate change in the Arab region on several domains such as water resources along with its economic and social effects.
Abdel Aaty presided over a workshop on the effects of the climate change on food security and management of joint Arab water resources, added the statement.
He reviewed Egyptian efforts for overcoming challenges related to water resources management in light of an increase of water demand at a time when the water of Egypt in the Nile River is stable.
The Egyptian government has laid out a plan for acclimatizing with the climate change until the year 2050 and coping up with its effects in the sectors of health care, water, agriculture and tourism, he pointed out.
