A former Saudi military man, who broke the oath of allegiance, adopting the Takfiri ideology and supporting Daesh, has been sentenced to 23 years in jail.
He was also convicted of sympathizing with and praising Al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden, attempting to overthrow the regime and incitement against the governors of the Kingdom and the rest of the Gulf Arab states.
He faces charges of traveling to conflict areas in Syria to participate in the fighting and joining one of the militant groups there.
The man was also found guilty of financing terrorism. He put the picture of Bin Laden as a profile photo of him on Twitter and stored material backing terrorist organizations on his computer.
He was prevented by the Specialized Criminal Court in Riyadh from traveling outside the country for 23 years beginning from the date of his release from prison
