The Ministry of State for Parliamentary Affairs on Monday revealed the procedures that have been taken by the government to deal with Friday’s terror attack on al Rawda mosque in North Sinai.

In a statement, the ministry noted that the procedures included sending 199 ambulances to the attack scene to carry the injured rapidly to hospitals. Hospitals have received all the causalities which reached 138 injuries and the bodies of 305 martyrs, including 27 children.

A small-group security meeting was held under President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and was attended by the defense and interior ministers along with the general intelligence authority chief, during which President Sisi ordered EGP 200,000 for each martyr’s family and EGP 50,000 for the families of each injured under the sponsorship of the social solidarity ministry.

Acting Premier and Housing Minister Moustafa Madboli held a meeting with all the ministers concerned to take several decisions including coordination with the ministry of finance to pay the allocated compensations in addition to cooperation with Misr el Kheir and El Orman associations to provide suitable job opportunities for the families of the victims.

Decisions also comprised placement of the families of the injured in places near the hospitals. They approved a set of measures to facilitate the issuance of death certificates for the victims and allow their relatives to cash compensations.

The meeting approved forming ten working teams to conduct a social research for the afflicted families to get briefed on their social needs and arrange for pensions for the families who lost their breadwinners.

The Justice minister was assigned to reactivate Al Arish court temporarily to address the measures needed for paying urgent subsidies to the families of the victims at a cost of 10,000 for each martyr and 5,000 for the injured.

A decision was approved to send foodstuffs for the families of the victims for three months and provide all medical supplies to North Sinai hospitals in addition to increasing the incentives of attracting labor in North Sinai by 300-450%.

Decisions also included beefing up security in Al Rawda village and its neighborhoods through operating security convoys over 24 hours, in addition to upgrading water and sanitation services.

They also agreed on outlining a plan for developing Ba'er el Abd including a suggestion to establish the new Ba’er el Abd town. The general sectariat of the cabinet was directed to follow up obtaining a presidential decree to set up the industrial city in Ba’er el Abd.

Another meeting was set to be held on December 3 to follow up the implementation of these decisions.

The ministry also underlined that al Awqaf ministry announced paying EGP 10,000 for the families of the martyrs and the injured
