Egypt's Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry on Saturday met with the chief of the International Crisis Group Jean-Marie Guehenno, on the sidelines of Egypt's participation in the meetings of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, said the spokesman for the Foreign Ministry Ahmed Abu Zeid in a statement.
The meeting reviewed Egypt's vision on ways to find settlement to the different crises in the region, the spokesman said.
The meeting tackled the various aspects of the Libyan crisis with Shoukry stressed that the deteriorating security situation in Libya has direct impact on the stability of Egypt.
He reiterated the need to work to confront terrorism in all its forms in Libya, Abu Zeid said.
The foreign minister highlighted the importance of activating the political process to resolve the Libyan crisis, reviewing recent Egyptian efforts of the national committee concerned with Libya in order to bring the Libyan parties together, he added.
The meeting also dealt with the situation in Yemen, Iraq, Syria, and Sudan.
