The cabinet's Information and Decision Support Center (IDSC) on Monday dismissed news circulated by a number of websites and social media pages about selling minced donkey meat at customers' outlets.
In its fact-finding report, the IDSC said that it contacted the Ministry of Supply that utterly denied the news, reaffirming that the meat sold at outlets are fit for human consumption.
The ministry described such rumors as groundless and bare of truth.
The ministry launches campaigns to monitor meat sold at markets to prevent selling expired meat, ahead of Al Adha (Greater Bairam) feast.
