A visiting delegation from the International Labor Organization (ILO) on Tuesday explored women’s empowerment with the Council of Saudi Chambers (CSC).
The ILO team discussed with the Saudi business sector how the two parties can best strengthen ties and explore new areas of cooperation.
The visiting delegation noted tangible developments in the Saudi labor market, and significant progress in preparing women for employment in the private sector.
Mansour Al-Shathri, head of the committee for labor affairs at the CSC, said one of the aims of Vision 2030 is to encourage female participation in the private sector, thereby reducing their unemployment rate. He added that the private sector is exerting great efforts to absorb Saudi jobseekers.
“We are… interested in providing Saudi jobseekers with an appropriate working environment and decent wages,” Al-Shathri said.
He welcomed cooperation between the CSC and ILO in providing training programs for employers and their representatives to raise the efficiency of Saudi human resources.
