The Arabic website “Ezraeil Defense” reported that Israel missed two “opportunities” to assassinate Hezbollah leader Sayyad Hassan Nasrallah, over the first two days of the second war on Lebanon, claiming that he could have potentially have been assassinated by Israeli aircraft. According to the site, by the time Israel decided to assassinate him, Mr. Nasrallah had disappeared, and it was too late. All the efforts made by the Israeli Air Force failed. The website states that the intentions of the Israeli military intelligence sprang from the refutation of Nasrallah’s movement. The Israeli army has in the past claimed that it did not formulate a plan to kill Nasrallah, however, it has now become clear that it was possible to assassinate Nasrallah during the first two days of the war, which Nasrallah spent acting normally, without fearing that Israeli intelligence wanted him killed, according to intelligence information. According to military intelligence, there were at least two opportunities to assassinate him; The fist opportunity was on the day for soldiers’ families, “Udi Goldwasser and Eldad Raagaf” - the day on which the war broke out. In the afternoon Mr.Nassrallah appeared for a meeting with reporters in front of the masses in the heart of Beirut. The website claims that he could have been assassinated at this moment by the bombardment of an Israeli plane. The second “missed opportunity” for Nasrallah’s assassination was on the first two nights of the war, when Israeli intelligence believed that Mr.Nasrallah was residing in his house in the suburbs. However, Mr.Nasrallah disappeared after Israeli planes began bombing the bridges located near the suburbs, but they did not bomb the buildings in his neighbourhood. Mr.Nasrallah left his home in the suburbs when the neighbourhood was bombed from the air on the third night of the war. After Nasrallah disappeared, Israeli military intelligence began to make great efforts to locate him, and during the first days of the war Israeli aircraft bombarded Beirut with tonnes of bombs, but to no avail.
