Israel’s Iron Dome air defense system has intercepted two missiles launched from the Gaza Strip, the press service of the Israel Defense Forces reported.
"Two missile launches on Israel out of the Gaza Strip were detected as of 23:07 Sunday (00:07 Moscow time Monday), both missiles were intercepted by the Iron Dome air defense system," the military said in the statement. Before that time, since Sunday evening air-raid warning systems had gone off at least seven times in the Eshkol Regional Council, which neighbors the Gaza Strip, warning locals about possible missile strikes.
On Sunday, the Israeli army reported that a shootout with Palestinian radicals had started during a operation carried out by the military in the Gaza Strip. The military later specified that none of the servicemen who took part in the operation was captured. The Army has not provided any details of the incident yet.
Palestine’s Maan News Agency reported, citing the enclave’s health ministry, that six Palestinians were killed and seven were injured in an operation carried out by Israeli special forces in the Gaza Strip.
