Sohag Criminal Court issued during its Wednesday's session rulings against 79 elements of the terrorist Muslim Brotherhood (MB).
The defendants had been charged of joining a terrorist organization and inciting protests as well as violence.
The court sentenced 72 defendants to five years in prison in absentia, while three others with three years.
Four of them were acquitted. Security bodies referred in 2016 the perpetrators to the prosecution which accused them of joining a banned terrorist group that aims at disrupting public peace and urging for protests without license in violation to the protest law.
