Awqaf Minister Mohamed Mokhtar Gomaa on Friday tasked the ministry's central department of engineering affairs to design mosques ready to host worshipers with disabilities.
In a statement, the minister said the decision was taken in light of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi's declaration of 2018 as a year for people with special needs.
Gomaa also issued directives to develop a plan for translating the sermons at the main mosques in Cairo and other governorates to sign language.
