Dar Al-Ifta's Fatwa Monitoring Observatory said slammed Israel's decision declare the Ibrahimi Mosque in Hebron, southern occupied West Bank a closed military zone.
This considered the decision a blatant provocation to the sentiments of more than one and half billion Muslims around the world, the observatory noted.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, the observatory warned of the dangers of the escalation launched by the Israeli forces against Palestinians in various Palestinian cities especially in Al Quds (occupied east Jerusalem) and Hebron.
It called for halting violence and respecting the religious sanctuaries as well as the rights of the Palestinians in freedom and security.
The observatory urged the international community with all its organizations topped by the United Nations to protect the religious sanctuaries, Al Quds and Al Aqsa as well as the Ibrahimi mosque.
