Director General of the Palestinian Affairs Department Yassin Awad said that Jordan, under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II, is confronting Israeli schemes and violations against Jerusalem as well as its Islamic and Christian holy sites.
In remarks at the opening of conference of supervisors on Palestinian refugee affairs in Cairo, he said that Jordan along with its Palestinian brethren and the Arab group played a positive role in the UNESCO’s adoption of a number of resolutions on Haram Al Sharif in favor of Arabs and Muslims.
Abu Awad affirmed in a statement issued by the department on Monday that Jordan will continue its support to the Palestinians until their fully regain their legitimate rights.
During the conference, Jordan will present a number of working papers on Israeli violations in the occupied Palestinian lands as well as the continued Israeli violations in the holy city.
The one-week is attended by the Arab League, Egypt, Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, Palestine, ALESCO, ISESCO and Organisation of Islamic Cooperation.
