Pope Tawadros II of Alexandria and Patriarch of Saint Marks Diocese said on Sunday he is following up efforts to bring back home the remains of 21 Egyptian Christians, who were killed in a massacre in Libya in 2015.
In a statement, the Coptic Orthodox Church said it is in contact with the Egyptian Foreign Ministry and the Egyptian ambassador to Libya to restore the remains of the Egyptian martyrs as soon as possible and place them at the church, which carries their names, in Minya governorate.
On February 16, 2015, Egyptian jets bombed Daesh targets in Libya, a day after the group there released a video showing the beheading of 21 Egyptian Christians.
