Head of the Antiquities Ministry's Antiquities Repatriation Department Shaaban Abdel Gawad said the ministry is currently preparing integrated files of 32,638 artifacts that were lost from its warehouses over the past 50 years to help Interpol to track them.
In statements to MENA on Monday, Abdel Gawad said that files will be prepared for each missing or stolen item, adding after finalizing them, they will be sent to the Interpol.
Egypt will restore several artifacts from Cyprus and Switzerland in the coming period, he said.
He further underlined the Antiquities Ministry's efforts to retrieve stolen artifacts that were smuggled abroad.
