Northern military zone commander Ali Adel Ashmawy said the rapid and sharp regional changes require developing weapons and equipment, honing skills of Armed Forces and being more vigilant than before to protect Egypt's security and stability.
He lauded the efforts exerted to set up Mohamed Naguib military base.
He stressed commitment to the national responsibilities to protect the nation.
A documentary film was screened showing the stages of establishing the base which safeguards the western borders in tandem with Barrani military base.
