A prosecution team inspected the scene of the fire exchange between police personnel and the elements of a terror cell who were hiding inside a cave in the desert of Qena governorate.
The prosecution ordered to carry out an autopsy and DNA testing to confirm the identities of the three terrorists who were killed in the shoot-out.
Earlier in the day, the Ministry of Interior said in a statement that security forces in Qena killed three terrorists believed to have taken part in targeting a number of churches and security checkpoints across the country.
The ministry added that Major Ahmed Abdel Fattah Gomaa was killed in the security raid on the terrorists' hideout in Abu Tesht township in Qena.
