Red Sea Governor Ahmed Abdullah, accompanied by Red Sea security chief Mohamed Tawfiq, checked on Hurghada tourist walkway early Sunday.
He also checked on checkpoints in the tourist city.
The move comes after two tourists were killed and four others wounded in a knife attack at a hotel in Hurghada.
The governor expressed appreciation for policemen's efforts to secure the governorate, urging them to do more effort.
