Russia is getting ready to host a new Astana-format summit on Syria, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said at a meeting with deputy foreign ministers of the Syrian ceasefire guarantor nations (the "Astana trio").
"Three summits have been held in Sochi, Tehran and Istanbul. Now it is our turn to prepare the next summit," he said.
Lavrov added he hoped that a new meeting between the Russian, Turkish and Iranian leaders would mark further progress on the Syrian settlement.
