Msahel said he met with President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and handed over a message from Algerian President Abdelaziz Bouteflika on expanding partnership between the two Arab countries.
Speaking at a joint press conference with Shoukry, Msahel said his country is very much keen on enhancing ties with Egypt, adding that a joint committee meeting will be held in Algiers before the end of this year.
He said the two countries also agreed to have a mechanism between their ministers of interior to coordinate efforts regarding security files.
Algeria is for a political solution in Libya that involves all Libyan parties, Msahel said, adding they are in talks now and that opens the door to a settlement.
As neighbors of Libya, Egypt and Algeria are working together toward that political solution, the top diplomat said.
The meeting with Shoukry also took up efforts to reform the Arab League system and fight terrorism, Msahel added.
