President Abdel Fattah El Sisi said Tuesday that his country and Rwanda agree on the importance of having the African Union play a bigger role in the continent.
Egypt is keen on working with Rwanda in the fields of agriculture and trade exchange, Sisi said in a joint press conference with his Rwandan counterpart Paul Kagame.
He invited Kagame to visit Egypt as soon as possible.
Sisi stressed the need to boost cooperation with Rwanda, particularly where honing skills and sharing know-how is concerned.
He said this is done through technical support programs provided by the Egyptian Agency of Partnership for Development (EAPD) and the Egyptian initiative for the development of Nile Basin countries.
Sisi told reporters that he and Kagame agreed on the importance of holding a joint committee meeting as soon as possible.
Kagame said Egypt plays a key role in achieving positive change in Africa.
Cairo acts to help African countries achieve further economic progress, the Rwandan president added.
