The Interior Ministry of the German state of Brandenburg said 206 migrant children were reported missing in mysterious circumstances.
A local newspaper reported that the number includes 90 Afghan, 30 Somali, and 25 Syrian children.
In 2015, 138 children were reported missing in Germany, compared to only six children in 2014.
According to the newspaper, people who leave their places of residence to unknown destinations and their lives become in danger are considered missing.
