Foreign Ministers of Mauritania and Algeria, Isselkou Ould Ahmed Izid and Abdelkader Messahel, have discussed bilateral relations.
The meeting, which took place on the sidelines of the 72nd United Nations National Assembly in New York City, tackled means of developing cooperation.
It also reviewed files of mutual concern, a Mauritanian official source said.
The meeting was held as the finishing touches are being put to inaugurate the first border crossing between the Mauritania and Algeria.
