The fruitful and constructive cooperation between the Middle East News Agency (MENA) and China's state news agency (Xinhua) is a model for media cooperation between Egypt and China, Board Chairman and Editor in Chief Ali Hassan asserted.
He made the remarks during a meeting with Xinhua's Middle East Regional Bureau Chief Zeng Hu.
During the meeting, Hassan hailed the great progress made in relations between Egypt and China in all aspects of cooperation, especially in light of the strategic ties binding the two states in the political, economic, military and media fields.
For his part, Zeng Hu asserted that Chinese media outlets, notably Xinhua, are keen to dedicate a section to cover news about Egypt and the Middle East.
The Chinese side is also interested in carrying news broadcast by the MENA as they are characterized by credibility, objectivity and neutrality, Zeng Hu said.
At the end of the meeting, the pair have agreed to proceed with the cooperation protocol signed between the two agencies and prepare an additional annex to be inked during the coming few weeks.
