Austrian Minister for Foreign Affairs Sebastian Kurz on Thursday said his country will plan a "change of course" for the European Union, in the lead up to its presidency of the Council of the EU next year.
In an interview with the Austria Press Agency, Kurz said he has commissioned European experts to come up with proposals for such changes ahead of the presidency in the second half of 2018.
Some issues to be looked at include the migrant crisis, indebtedness of member states, and the crisis of confidence in the union.
He said the so-called Brexit, Britain's departure from the EU, should also be completed under the Austrian leadership. The EU should not remain the same afterwards, but instead use the opportunity to implement some reforms, he added.
