Civil Aviation Minister Sherif Fathi met with a number of transport and aviation ministers in Africa and the Middle East region on the sidelines of a recent regional conference in Sharm ElSheikh.
The meetings tackled ways of promoting cooperation in the field of aviation, particularly as regards training and airport development, said a statement released by the Civil Aviation Ministry on Saturday.
Fathi met with several transport ministers, including Anis Ghadira of Tunisia, Cecilia Abena of Ghana and Sindisiwe Chikunga of South Africa.
Sharm El Sheikh witnessed on August 22-24 a conference of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) under the theme of "Global Aviation Security Plan (GASeP): The Roadmap to Foster Aviation Security in Africa and the Middle East."
