Commander-in-Chief of the Bahrain Defence Force (BDF), Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, received at the BDF General Commander today the Malaysian Army Chief, General Tan Sri Raja Mohamed Affandi Raja Mohamed Noor, and his accompanying delegation.
Defence Affairs Minister, Lieutenant-General Yussef bin Ahmed Al-Jalahma, BDF Chief of Staff, Lieutenant-General Dhiyab bin Saqr Al-Nuaimi, Royal Guard Commander, Brigadier-General Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa were present.
The commander-in-chief and the Malaysian Army Chief co-chaired official talks between the two delegations.
A presentation was given on BDF's history and units, as well as on the its progress during the prosperous era of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Supreme Commander.
The meeting discussed areas of bilateral cooperation in the military fields, and ways to boost them, as well as issued of mutual concern.
The two sides also exchanged souvenir gifts.
The commander-in-chief welcomed the Malaysian Army chief, noting that the visits aims to strengthen military cooperation between the two friendly countries.
He lauded the depth of bilateral relations, and their steady progress, stressing the importance of exchanging visits to expand areas of joint cooperation.
He also highlighted the Bahraini leadership's keenness to bolster relations with Malaysia for the common interests of the two friendly countries and their peoples.
Commander-in-Chief hosted a lunch banquet in honour of the Malaysian Army Chief and his accompanying delegation at the BDF Officiers Club.
