Egypt and Germany have a strategic partnership, with Cairo wishing to benefit from the German experience in technology, investments and tourism, Egyptian Ambassador in Berlin Badr Abdel Aati said Friday.
Abdel Aati made the remarks during the signing of a cooperation deal between the German University in Cairo (GUC) and DMG MORI Africa, an offshoot of Germany's DMG MORI machine tool company.
The deal was inked on the sidelines of the World Machine Tool Exhibition "EMO", currently taking place in Hannover.
The diplomat added that Egypt is not only a big market, but a gate into the African and Arab market.
He also expressed happiness over the presence of German companies in the Suez Canal Economic Zone, saying this will lead to a promising future for industries in Egypt.
