The event titled: "A Shared Responsibility for a Common Goal: Solidarity and Security," will be held under the chairmanship of Italian Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Angelino Alfano.
The conference aims at fostering coordination among Arab and African countries to put an end to illegal migration through the Mediterranean, as well as adopting a new approach to help migrants and refugees.
In addition to Egypt, the conference will be attended by Sudan, Algeria, Germany, Austria, Spain, Estonia, Ethiopia, France, the Netherlands, Libya, Malta, Niger, Chad and Tunisia.
High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini, as well as Director General of the International Organization for Migration William Lacy Swing, and UN Secretary-General’s Special Representative for International Migration Louise Arbour will be present at the conference as well.
