The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, met with the Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cyprus, Nikos Christodoulides, on the sidelines of the 73rd session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.

During the meeting, the Minister of Foreign Affairs hailed the advanced level of friendly relations between the two countries and the mutual keenness to expand bilateral cooperation at various levels, noting the importance of continuing joint coordination on various issues to achieve the common interests of the two countries and friendly peoples.

For his part, Mr. Christodoulides stressed the interest of the Republic of Cyprus in developing relations with the Kingdom of Bahrain in various fields, in order to serve the interests of the two friendly countries and peoples, wishing the Kingdom of Bahrain further progress and prosperity.

During the meeting, Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa also met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, David Zalkaliani, where he affirmed the keenness of the Kingdom of Bahrain to invest all opportunities in expanding joint cooperation, especially in the economic field, in a way that supports the interests of both countries and peoples.

For his part, Mr. Zalkaliani praised the progress of relations achieved by the Kingdom of Bahrain and Georgia, which reflects the common will to develop bilateral relations, wishing the Kingdom of Bahrain continued prosperity and stability.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, also met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi. The Minister of Foreign Affairs expressed the pride of the Kingdom of Bahrain for its strong relations with the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, commending the development witnessed between them, which reflects the will and aspirations of the two friendly countries and peoples to support efforts of prosperity and progress.

He also praised the brotherly positions of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan with the Kingdom of Bahrain and its efforts in support of regional and international security and stability, affirming the Kingdom’s solid stance towards all efforts aimed at establishing peace throughout the world.

For his part, Mr. Qureshi stressed the keenness of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to strengthen bilateral relations and cooperation with the Kingdom of Bahrain at various levels and to continue joint coordination on various issues. He also praised the efforts of the Kingdom of Bahrain to promote international cooperation to achieve the aspirations of nations and peoples in maintaining development and prosperity.
