French President Nicolas Sarkozy met here today with his Russian counterpart Dmitry Medvedev on the sidelines of the summit of the Group of Eight countries, which will be held later today in the French seaside retreat of Deauville. Talks during the meeting focused on relations between the two countries and prospects for developing them, as well as current international developments. During the meeting president Sarkozy said France and Russia have shared a comprehensive vision of all the problems in spite of differing views on some issues, vowing to discuss the current international situation during the summit." For his part, President Medvedev said that he agreed with his French counterpart, stressing that reflected great importance to bilateral relations, to Europe and the world.
