A joint group of French and US inspectors on Saturday will begin an observation mission over the territory of Russia under the international Treaty on Open Skies. The monitors will be using the French surveillance aircraft P-130N, the Russian Defense Ministry’s office of press and information told Russian news agency (Itar-Tass). "The aircraft and equipment mounted on it have undergone the necessary international certification, with Russian representatives taking part," the Defense Ministry said. "The flight, which will last till June 12, will proceed along a route agreed with Russian specialists, who will be on board to monitor compliance with the agreements on using technical means," the Defense Ministry added.
