Minister of International Cooperation Sahar Nasr held several meetings with UN officials in New York at the beginning of her visit to the US before heading for Washington to lead Egypt’s delegation in the annual meetings of the World Bank.
During the meetings, the UN representatives lauded Egypt’s efforts to achieve the goals of the organization for sustainable development approved by 193 states in December.
According to a statement of the Ministry of International Cooperation Tuesday, Nasr discussed with UN Assistant Secretary-General and Director of the Regional Bureau for Arab States at UNDP Sima Bahous the framework of the UN for development aid supplies in Egypt to meet with the priorities of the Egyptian government in projects that make better living for citizens.
Also, Nasr conferred with UN Under-Secretary-General for Economic and Social Affairs Wu Hongbo on the mutual cooperation fields to execute the aims of sustainable development.
Hongbo lauded the efforts of the Egyptian government to achieve the aims of sustainable development.
Nasr asserted that Egypt implements an ambitious development plan to develop the different levels especially the economic one.
The minister also met with Administrator of the United Nations Development Programme Helen Clark and thanked her over her last successful visit to Egypt.
