Minister of International Cooperation Sahar Nasr wrapped up her participation in Davos Economic Summit with a series of meetings with officials in the international finance foundations as well as a number ministers from UAE, Kuwait, Jordan and Bahrain.
Nasr conferred with Kuwaiti Deputy Prime Minister Khaled Saleh on means of enhancing Kuwaiti-Egyptian relations in the economic domain as well as opening new fields of cooperation in light of the challenges facing the Middle East region.
The minister said the portfolio of cooperation with Kuwaiti Development Fund hits dlrs three billion including several development projects of influence on the Egyptian economy. The recent of such projects was the desalination station in East Port Said whose cost exceeded dlrs 120 million, she added.
She also met with UAE Finance Minister Ebeid el-Tayer as they probed cooperation with Abu Dhabi Fund for Development especially regarding the development projects in Sinai.
Nasr said Sinai development project which is funded by a number of Arab finance funds comprised several projects planned by the Egyptian government to serve Sinai residents and achieve development targets on its land.
The Egyptian minister also conferred with Bahraini Minister of Industry, Trade and Tourism Zayed al-Zayati on means of bolstering cooperation in several domains.
Minister of International Cooperation Sahar Nasr also met with her Jordanian counterpart Emad al-Fakhouri on means of coordinating stances between the two countries in regional and international funding foundation so as to achieve common interests from both countries’ partners.
Nasr also met with Deputy Board Chairman of Visa Corporation Elaine Richie on means of funding the delivery of services to the most needy areas as well as supporting small and micro-small enterprises.
The minister also asserted the importance of supporting women as part of a program announced by Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to dedicate 2017 for the Egyptian women.
Richie for her part asserted that Egypt achieved a big economic progress and that her company was keen on bolstering cooperation with the Egyptian government so as to expand the digital payment services and contribute to comprehensive development goals.
The minister also met with Financial Manager of Siemens Ralph Thomas as they discussed enhancing cooperation between Egypt and the company.
Nasr urged Siemens to extend more support to Cairo in the fields of energy, transport and the construction of the new administrative capital.
Thomas for his part voiced satisfaction over the economic and social program of the Egyptian government to achieve sustainable development in the coming phase.
