Mexican police say they have arrested the man at the top off the Baja California most-wanted list, an alleged leader in the Sinaloa cartel. Hector Eduardo Guajardo Hernandez, nicknamed El Guicho, was taken into custody Monday in the state capital, Mexicali, The San Diego Union-Tribune reported. Guajardo attempted to flee police and was wounded during the chase, while one of his alleged associates was killed, police said. A spokesman for the Baja California Preventive Police called Guajardo "the most wanted man in Baja California." In a statement, the agency said he is believed to have been involved in a number of kidnappings and killings. Investigators said the Sinaloa Cartel has been trying to replace the Arellano Felix Cartel in Baja California.
