North Korea to release US detainee

North Korea has decided to release US citizen Eddie Jun Yong-Su, who was detained last November, the official KCNA news agency said Friday. The North "decided to free and return (Jun) on humanitarian grounds in consideration of repeated requests" by recent US visitors to Pyongyang, the news agency said. It was not clear from the report whether Jun, who was apparently detained for missionary work, had already been freed.
