The parliament's transport committee is scheduled to hold a meeting on Monday to discuss a tragic accident that occurred on Friday due to the collision of two trains in Alexandria.
Head of the Transport Committee Saeed Te'ema had told MENA, following the accident, that the panel will hold an emergency meeting in the next few days to examine the reasons behind the accident and the means to avoid it in the future.
Health Minister Ahmed Emadeddin Radi said yesterday that most of those injured in the train accident were discharged from hospitals after receiving the needed medical care.
The collision caused the death of 41 persons, and the injury of 132 others, according to Health Ministry Spokesman Khaled Megahed.
On a different note, the parliament's religious affairs committee will hold a meeting on Tuesday to discuss the preparations for this year's Hajj season.
