President of Nepal Bidhya Devi Bhandari on Wednesday stressed her country's support for HE Dr. Hamad bin Abdulaziz Al Kuwari, Adviser at the Emiri Diwan and Qatar's candidate for the post of United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural (UNESCO) Director-General.
During a meeting held here on Wednesday between the two sides, the President of Nepal praised the deep relations between the two countries, expressing her keenness to visit Qatar during the coming period. 
She stressed that Nepal's support for the Qatari candidate as UNESCO Director-General comes an expression of appreciation for the distinct cooperation between the two countries in support of nominations in international organizations, in appreciation for the excellent bilateral relations, and in recognition of the Qatari candidate high level of competence and experience to lead the UN organization. 
President of the Republic of Nepal also expressed gratitude to the State of Qatar for hosting the Nepalese labor, praising the good treatment which they enjoy in the public and private sectors. 
For his part, HE Dr. Al Kuwari expressed thanks and gratitude to the President of Nepal for her support, stressing the importance of enhancing cooperation and bringing efforts together for the restoration of UNESCO to face of the challenges and serve its noble goals. 
He hailed the constructive role of the Nepalese community in Qatar and their contribution to the development process. 
HE Dr. Al Kuwari also met today with Nepalese Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, who in turn affirmed support for the Qatari candidate, praising the depth of relations between the two countries in various fields. 
He praised the level of treatment enjoyed by the Nepalese community in Qatar, hailing the procedures being implemented by the Qatari authorities to improve the conditions of foreign workers. 
 HE Dr. Al Kuwari also met with Minister for Foreign Affairs of Nepal Prakash Sharan Mahat, who highly praised the relations between the two countries, stressing his country's support for the Qatari candidate which would pave the way for a greater cooperation between the two countries for the success of UNESCO. 
During his several days visit to Nepal, HE Al Kuwari also held a meeting with Education Minister Dhaniram Paudel, during which he briefed him on his vision for the advancement of UNESCO to meet challenges, shedding light on the pivotal role of education and its role as a basic pillar in the development and counter-terrorism. 
 The meeting was attended by HE Qatar's Ambassador to Nepal Yousef bin Mohammed Al Hail.
