Russian President Vladimir Putin discussed over the phone on Monday with his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan the issue of establishing new de-escalation zones in Syria,
Russia Today quoted a Russian presidential statement as saying the two presidents discussed in detail the positive outcome of the six international meeting on Syria in Astana.
The two sides asserted the importance of establishing the zones to pave the way for ending Syria's civil war and stressed the unity of Iraq's unity after Kurdistan referendom to cede from Iraq.
