Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi said that he had talks with his Gabonese counterpart Ali Bongo Ondimba on boosting bilateral ties at the political, economic, security and military levels, saying that they shared identical views on several regional and international issues of mutual interest.
Speaking at a press conference following their meeting on Wednesday, Sisi said that they agreed on the importance of intensifying efforts in the coming period to strengthen relations between Cairo and Libreville in all domains through the convocation of the joint committee that held its last meeting in 2008.
The committee will convene in Gabon in the coming months, Sisi asserted.
He added that he agreed with President Ondimba on beefing up investments and trade exchange between the two countries.
During their meeting, Ondimba posted President Sisi on Gabon's efforts to realize stability in Central African Republic in light of its current presidency of the Economic Community of Central African States (ECCAS).
Sisi also lauded President Ondimba's efforts to resolve regional crises and undertake institutional and structural reform of the ECCAS.
Sisi also greeted Gabon on its 57th Independence Anniversary.
