President Abdel Fattah El Sisi received on Monday a phone call from Irish Prime Minister Leo Varadkar who hailed as deeply-rooted the relations between the two countries.
Varadkar said he is looking forward to fostering cooperation with Egypt in various fields.
The president congratulated Varadkar over his new post, stressing Egypt’s keenness on boosting relations especially in economy and trade fields.
They also discussed the situation of an Irish citizen of Egyptian origin who is currently being tried in Egypt. Sisi pointed out that judiciary in Egypt is totally independent.
