Syria Ambassador to Russia Riyad Hadad said the Syrian government was invited to the fifth round of talks on Syria, due to be held in Astana.
Haddad told the Russian news agency Sputnik that the meeting will be held on June 12-13.
During the fourth round of talks on Syria, an agreement was reached on establishing de-escalation zones to pave the ground for a political settlement for the Syrian stalemate and improve humanitarian conditions.
In January, Astana hosted the first meeting for discussing measures to maintain a ceasefire in Syria.
The meeting was held under auspices of Turkey and Russia and attended by Iran, the US, the Damascus government and the opposition.
