A top UN official says air strikes that hit two settlements holding displaced people seeking sanctuary in northern Syria may constitute war crimes, ABC News reported.
UN Humanitarian Chief Stephen O'Brien said Thursday that if settlements had been deliberately targeted "it could amount to a war crime."
O'Brien said initial reports indicate that at least 30 people were killed and over 80 injured in Thursday's attack, among them women and children. He called for an independent and impartial investigation into the attacks.
