Clashes erupted between dozens of Palestinian youth and Israeli troops near a checkpoint leading to Beit El settlement in northern Ramallah Monday.
One of the youth was injured by a rubber bullet fired by the Israeli troops, eyewitnesses told MENA.
The face-off occurred after a symbolic funeral was held for Mohamed Ghannam, killed had died while defending the Al Aqsa Mosque, they said.
Local sources said students are getting more involved in confrontations with Israeli troops, believing this is a very important development.
The sources expected more students to take part in the fight in the West Bank.
This comes after President Mahmoud Abbas announced a freeze of all contacts with Israel, as well as security coordination, in the wake of its escalated atrocities against the Al Aqsa Mosque.
