Knesset members Yehuda Glick and Shuli Moalem-Refaeli entered early Tuesday Aqsa Mosque under tight security.
They were accompanied by a number of ultra-extremists and Jewish rabbis.
The visit is the first by Knesset members since Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu imposed a ban on such visits in October 2015.
Several days, Netanyahu has given the green light for Knesset members to access Aqsa Mosque this week
as part of a one-day trial, intended to gauge how the presence of lawmakers at the holy shrine impacts the situation on the ground.
Eyewitnesses said the Knesset members entered the holy shrine via Magharba gate raising hackles of worshipers and Aqsa workers.
