At least 28 ISIS militants have been killed during the latest operations conducted in east of Afghanistan.
The 201st Silab Corps of the Afghan National Army (ANA) forces said the militants were killed in Nangahar province in the past 24 hours.
The operations were conducted by the Afghan National Defense and Security Forces (ANDSF) in Kot and Achin district, 201st Silab Corps said, adding that the US forces also provided support to the Afghan forces.
No further details were given on how the US forces provided the support to ANDSF but the regular airstrikes are carried out by the US forces based in Afghanistan, according to the Afghan (Khaama Press).
No casualties were incurred to the civilians or the members of the Afghan National Defense and Security Forces, 201st Silab Corps added.
Both the Taliban insurgents and ISIS militants are active in a number of the remote districts of Nangarhar province.
They often conduct insurgency activities against the Afghan security forces amid ongoing operations to eliminate the militants operating against the government in this province.
