35 militants belonging to the militant group of Daesh have been killed in a clash with security forces in Achin District of eastern Nangarhar province.
Haji Ghalib, the governor of Achin District who reported the clash this morning told media outlets before noon that there was no resistance in the area and that militants have been pushed back, Khaama News Agency reported on Sunday.
He said the clash took almost eight hours and left 35 Daesh militants killed.
The district governor confirmed that two soldiers embraced martyrdom and four others wounded in the clash that started after insurgents belonging to Daesh attacked a number of security posts in his district around 03:00 am this morning.
He further said that security forces are now conducting a clean-up operation in the area.
