At least 98 Taliban militants were killed following separate military operations conducted by Afghan national security forces in the past 24 hours.
The interior ministry of Afghanistan said in a statement the operations were jointly conducted by Afghan national police, Afghan national army and Afghan intelligence – national directorate of security (NDS).
The statement further added that 21 Taliban militants were killed, 15 militants were injured and 15 others were detained during the operations, according to the Afghan (Khaama Press).
The Interior Ministry said the operations were conducted in Balkh, Ghazni, Paktia, Farah and Helamnd provinces.
Afghan national security forces also confiscated various types of weapons, ammunition and explosives during the military operations.
In the meantime, the Ministry of Defense of Afghanistan said at least 77 Taliban militants were killed during the operations by Afghan national army (ANA) soldiers in the past 24 hours.
Defense officials also added that 28 improvised explosive devices (IEDs) were also discovered and seized during the operations.
The anti-government armed militant groups have not commented regarding the report so far.
