At least 5 Afghan soldiers and 64 militants have been killed during counter-terrorism operations against the internal and foreign terrorists in the past 24 hours, the Afghan Ministry of Defense said.
At least 28 ISIS militants were killed during the operations in Sherzad, Kot and Achin district, the ministry said in a statement.
At least 18 Taliban insurgents were killed during a separate operation in Dand-e-Patan district of Paktia, MoD said, adding that 7 others were killed in Qala-e-Zal district of Kunduz.
At least 11 more militants were killed during the other operations conducted in Helmand, Herat, Maidan Wardak, Ghazni and Daikundi provinces.
The ministry also added that 38 militants suffered casualties during the same operations and at least 4 others were detained by the Afghan forces.
