At least four civilians were killed and more than twenty others wounded in a suicide attack in the sixth police district of central capital Kabul of Afghanistan on Sunday, said officials.
Kabul police spokesman Hashmat Stanikzai confirming the incident said that four civilians were killed and more than 20 wounded in the car bombing. Ministry of Interior spokesman Siddique Siddiqui stated that the incident took place in the Darul Aman locality close to Allauddin Square. He added an International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) convoy was the apparent target of the suicide bombing. At least seven people were wounded. The NATO force made no immediate comment after the attack.
The attack came just after the current deal between the two rival presidential candidates to form a national unity government.
The candidates, Ashraf Ghani and Abdullah Abdullah vowed to work together to end the political crisis in the country, whoever becomes president after an ongoing audit votes. All foreign soldiers will depart by the end of the year but a follow-up support mission of about 10,000 troops is offered by US if the next president signs security a deal.
